  • 8 to 12 slices spice cake
  • 200 g icing sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • blue and yellow food colouring
  • coloured sugar sprinkles
  • nylon wire and ribbons

    Cut Christmas tree shapes out of the soft gingerbread with a sharp knife.

    Mix the icing sugar with the water, add in the blue and yellow food colouring. The result is a nice, vibrant green icing.

    Cover the ‘top’ of the Christmas trees with the coloured icing.

    Decorate the trees with the sugar sprinkles

    Thread nylon wire through the top of your spice cake Christmas tree and attach a ribbon to it.
