Spice cake house

Ingredients

  • 1 uncut loaf of spice cake (500 g)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 200 g icing sugar
  • mini Smarties
  • silver sugar sprinkles
  • piping bag with a piping tip that has a small opening

    Cut 6 long slices of the spice cake loaf, and remove the crust.

    Leave 2 slices as is, cut about a third off two other slices.
    Cut a triangle out of these slices, for the roof, starting at the same height as the long slices

    Cut out a door in one of the side walls and a window in each of the two longer slices.

    Mix the icing sugar with the water and spoon this ‘glue’ into a piping bag. (Set aside some icing sugar for the roof).

    Pipe the glue on the sides of the side walls and stick them in between the long slices.
    Press well.

    Pipe glue onto the roof edges of the sides of the house and along the top of the two long walls.

    Stick the two roof panels against the walls.

    Pipe glue along the ridge of the roof and decorate with silver sugar sprinkles. Do the same with the sides of the roof.

    Make a small chimney with the leftovers. Cut it at an angle and stick it onto the roof.

    Decorate the sides of the house with the mini Smarties and sprinkle icing sugar onto the roof.
